About our school

kcps leaders

Kemps Creek Public School prides itself on providing opportunities for success in a supportive and safe environment. Our school motto 'We Care' is reflected in our strong student welfare programs and happy family atmosphere.

Our school has a population of around 160 students with experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic staff. Additional staff such as a learning and support teacher, English as a second language teacher and school counsellor provide additional focused support.

Our school is located in a semi-rural area approximately 25 kilometres west of Liverpool between the cities of Penrith and Camden. It is situated on approximately three hectares of land, set in a delightful bushland setting of remaining Cumberland Plain, with pockets of native bush on either side. Our school has excellent facilities and is surrounded by attractive, spacious grounds with sports oval, tennis court, play equipment, sandpit and vegetable garden.

Our modern school facilities include a well-equipped hall, air-conditioned classrooms and library with computer laboratory and videoconferencing facilities. With a strong focus on technology, the school is equipped with interactive whiteboards, computers and laptops in every classroom with broadband internet access across the school.

The school's mission statement is to achieve quality education which will equip each student to take a responsible role in society, through a staff and community committed to sound educational practices, in a positive environment. We achieve this through quality teaching programs with a focus on literacy and numeracy. Accelerated Literacy is an integral part of our literacy programs with Jolly Phonics also implemented in the early years. The integration of technology in all curriculum areas supports and enhances learning. As a KidsMatter school we provide approaches and programs to strengthen students mental health and wellbeing. Our students have many opportunities to be to be involved in extra-curricula activities including inter school sport, dance, public speaking, chess, choir and concerts.

Kemps Creek Public School is an active member of the Cowpasture Community of Schools with seven other local schools (Austral, Badgerys Creek, Bringelly, Horsley Park, Leppington, Middleton Grange, Rossmore Public Schools). The schools work together to provide support and greater diversity of opportunities for students and staff. Shared activities across the community of schools include performing arts and sports events, student leadership activities and combined teacher professional development.

The school has a strong P&C that meets regularly. They actively participate in decision making for our school and often fund vital equipment and technology needs. Our modern canteen is available each day and run by dedicated parent volunteers.
