Kemps Creek Public School - Part of History

KC and the time capsule

We are delighted to share a special occasion in our school's history. On January 10th, representatives from Transport for NSW and Seymour Whyte Constructions participated in the placement ceremony of a time capsule within the newly constructed M12 westbound bridge across Elizabeth Drive.

Late last year, Kemps Creek Public School proudly donated a selection of items to be included in the time capsule. Among the contributions were our esteemed school mascot, affectionately known as "KC," a representative school bag, student artwork showcasing our creative talents, and a whole school photograph capturing the essence of our diverse and inclusive community.

Principal Amanda Rogers expressed her enthusiasm for this initiative, recognising it as an opportunity for our school to contribute to the historical legacy of our local area. Through the inclusion of items that hold sentimental value to our students, staff, and community, we aim to offer future generations a glimpse into the life and culture of Kemps Creek Public School during this era.

The placement of the time capsule symbolises not only the physical connection provided by the bridge but also a bridge across time, linking past, present, and future generations. It serves as a testament to our commitment to preserving our heritage and fostering a sense of pride and belonging within our school community.

These items represent not only our present experiences but also our hopes and aspirations for the future. They serve as a reminder of the values of knowledge, creativity, and community that define our small school.

We extend our gratitude to Transport for NSW and Seymour Whyte Constructions  in making this event possible and look forward to the continued preservation of our school's legacy for years to come.
