Kemps Creek Public School Celebrates World Autism Awareness Day!

On Wednesday, April 2, Kemps Creek Public School was a sea of blue as students and staff came together to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day. The day was filled with fun, inclusive, and engaging activities designed to highlight the importance of understanding and supporting individuals on the autism spectrum.

Dressed in shades of blue, the universal colour for autism awareness, students participated in a variety of sensory activities that encouraged exploration and creativity. From the floating magic of bubbles to the soothing texture of cloud dough, every activity was designed to engage the senses and promote an appreciation for the different ways people experience the world.

The playground transformed into a sensory wonderland, where students enjoyed making tracks in breakfast cereal with toy dump trucks, feeling the squishy, slippery textures of crazy colourful spaghetti, and immersing themselves in hands-on experiences that sparked curiosity and joy.

World Autism Awareness Day is an important reminder of the strengths, talents, and unique perspectives of individuals on the autism spectrum. At Kemps Creek Public School, this celebration was not just about raising awareness—it was about embracing neurodiversity and ensuring that every student is known, valued and cared for.

Thank you to all the students, staff, and families who helped make this day a memorable and meaningful celebration! 💙✨
